When you first arrive at Norlands…

Please follow the “Parking” signs around the back of the Church/Meetinghouse.

Buses should park to the RIGHT of the wagon sheds.

There is NO parking anywhere else on the estate.

Wear good walking shoes – it is a working farm!

Accommodations

Norlands is equipped with an accessible ramp at the back of the Mansion.  Please look for signs to park behind the Mansion to access.  Unfortunately, not all of Norlands historic buildings have ease of access.  Fortunately, the Mansion, Farmer’s Cottage Kitchen, & historic barn do.  We are always working to make as much of Norlands available to all our guests.

  • We only allow foot traffic through the stone columns of the estate.
  • Please proceed to the “Carriage House” where our admissions office & gift shop are to find out where to start your tour, find your Rural Arts Course, or where to bring your group.
  • E-ticket holders should still check in for directions.

After a tour, or while waiting for one, is a perfect time to have a picnic lunch.  Ask in the Admissions office for a quilt to lay on the ground under a tree or set up on a picnic table –  sit and stay awhile.

1870s Facilities

Please be aware that Norlands maintains the immersive 1870s experience as much as possible.  This includes our site “privies” & washroom in the Farmer’s Cottage Kitchen.
A private space for diaper changing and nursing mothers is available in the washroom of the Farmer’s Cottage Kitchen.
